Once upon a long, long time in the ancient world of wonders, an era where magic and sorceries knew no bounds,… where gods played tricks on men and interacted with the natives,… there emerged tales of romance, chronicles of battles among villages, narratives where gods taught the people to construct unimaginable structures,… stories that came to be known today as Legends of Palau.

Imagine a world so different from the world you know yet,… so very much alike in so many ways.  In the language of my people, I bid you “ALII”… and welcome you to my realm in the spirit world.  I am known by my people as UAB.  I will be accompanying you on this journey and take you through my own story and more, in this booklet containing numerous stories of the island of Palau.

The Palauan legends have undergone many changes as time passed and were told and retold in different versions as my people migrated around Palau traveling from one village to another.  Like most teller of tales, my friend JeRome Temengil improved and set the stories in his own version and went on to publish the booklet titled “Legends of Palau” in February 2004.

I will have to remind my friend to step up his priorities and start writing more stories of the island for a Third Volume of the Legends of Palau.  Recently the "Medal a Bai ra Ulimang" was discovered on the hills of Ngardmau... such discovery not only confirmed that the island's legends have some truth to them but also authenticated what many elders have been saying for the last century that Ngaraard is bordered with Melekeok and Ngaremlengui.

But enough of that... I believe my friend is convinced that another volume of the Legends of Palau is overdue and so the third part is scheduled to be published in the Summer of this year therefore keep an eye for it.
